- Give the relationship first: stranger, boyfriend, rival, gym buddy, long-term companion, or custom dynamic.
- Add setting, mood, and pacing so the agent has concrete context instead of a vague instruction.
- Tell the agent what to do if it approaches a boundary: slow down, redirect, ask, or switch tone.
Ask for one useful next beat
- Short turns usually outperform long scripts because the user can steer the scene.
- Specify reply shape: dialogue only, action plus dialogue, image prompt, or a compact scene beat.
- Keep user agency intact by telling the agent not to decide the user's actions, consent, or feelings.
- Use word limits when replies become generic or too theatrical.
Tune tone without restarting
- If the scene feels bland, ask for a stronger motive, one concrete setting detail, and one emotional reaction.
- If the scene feels too intense, lower the intensity by a percentage and preserve attraction.
- If voice drifts, restate the character's personality and ask for a rewrite from the last message.
